Afternoon Outing

Though the weather outside is frightful,
the animals in the science lab have been delightful,
winter recess--winter recess--winter recess...

Thank you Mrs. Hill for sharing your time with us!

Fancy Quesadillas!

The children from Room 4 made quesadillas for snack.  Each child created his/her own quesadilla to taste:
"After washing your hands, put a tortilla on your plate.  Spread on refried beans.  Spoon on some salsa.  Sprinkle cheese on top. Watch it cook.  Carefully remove the quesadilla from the toaster oven.  Yum! "

The best part was eating the quesadillas with friends.

Fun with Art

Creative Experiences has been lots of fun this fall!

The new Practical Life works were popular this week.  Children practiced putting on a pair of mittens and a hat.  We’ll put out snow pants to practice with soon!  The children have been tonging leaves, squeezing sponges with a special fish press, sweeping up leaves, and polishing wood, silver, or brass.

Wednesday we made fancy Quesadillas!  The children spread on refried beans, salsa, and cheese, and then we baked our treats in a toaster oven.

Surprise – snow!!  The children were so excited to go play outside.  Friday we went sledding down the hill on the side of the playground.  We do go outside to play throughout the winter unless it is 15 degrees or colder (temperature or wind chill), so dress warmly!  To play in the snow, children need snow pants and boots, mittens and hat.  They will not be able to sled or play in the snow without these.  Please label as much as you can, to avoid mixing up or losing snow pants, mittens, etc.  You are welcome to leave a pair of labeled snow pants at school.  Please let me know if you need your snow pants sent home.  Let’s go play in the snow!!
