Gardening Adventure

Summer Sunshine Gardening Camp was a blast!  We had the opportunity to explore several aspects of gardening, from actual planting to eating and food preservation.  We learned about nutritious and non-nutritious foods and parts of a seed, flower, and plant.

Some of our favorite memories are husking corn and eating fresh corn on the cob, snapping and eating green beans, and learning how to make dill pickles.  The pickles have to brine for 6 weeks and then you can enjoy them!  We planted our own tomato plants to take home and watch grow.

Our Peace Garden looks much more beautiful, thanks to the industrious efforts of the children.  They dug in the dirt to help loosen the soil, spread out new dirt, and planted many beautiful flowers.

We finished the camp with a fabulous water day!
